About the Fellowship
The CBA Fellowship supports scholars and artists of dance and its related arts and sciences. It provides space and time to pursue rigorous work. Fellows gain new colleagues and a broad community of scholars and artists, two communities that do not often meet. Past fellows have come from wide-ranging disciplines such as history, design, philosophy, visual arts, and more. Fellows are not required to be experts in ballet or dance but must have an interest in engaging with the art forms.
CBA Fellowship Includes:
- Stipend
- Use of CBA’s dance studio, offices, and conference rooms
- Access to CBA’s community of 200+ artists and scholars
- Housing, as needed and available
- Access to NYU’s library network and intellectual communities
Joint Fellowships
The CBA Joint Fellowships provide artists with expanded opportunities to engage with the arts in New York City. These fellowships support a diverse cohort of artists and scholars from around the world, spanning multiple stages of their careers. Joint fellows receive support from both partnering organizations, enabling them to develop new work and pursue their research.
CBA does not consider unsolicited fellowship applications. Fellows are appointed directly by CBA in consultation with our advisors.
